Family Therapy

Therapy for New Parents

DBT and CBT for Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety can be debilitating, whether you or a family member is struggling with panic, anxious or ruminative thoughts, or situational anxiety. I apply Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) interventions to help individual family members identify their triggers, and develop coping skills to successfully manage the overwhelm of anxiety. I apply fundamentals of Dialectical Behavior Therapy treatment, which focuses on: Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Mindfulness. I also use Cognitive Behavior interventions include: thought stopping, cognitive reframing and cognitive restructuring. We will focus on:
Identifying anxiety triggers
Re-directing anxious thoughts
Effectively managing panic attacks
